Artist's Comments

"Time will change the familiar face
Brightest colors fade to gray
The fear is real, one winter's day brings the clarity

I feel the time is catching up with us
How many days until its hunger is satisfied?
Leaving the final golden days
We are the last amazing grays
Hoping the young will lead the pack now

I can feel my heart is beating still
I can see you with my eyes, I still see
But I can't run the way my children can
Can't accept the helping hand, leave me
You are the strong one, trust in me
You must lead instead of me, now
There's no time, don't hesitate
Or you will also find your fate
...

In the eyes of every newborn, I see the future
Life is just a phase
I close my eyes and see them all here beside me
The last amazing grays"

Sonata Arctica - The Last Amazing Grays

My god, I love this song. This piece is fully inspired by the new amazing Sonata Arctica song The Last Amazing Grays. I'll go nuts while waiting their new album being released - I've ordered it in advance three weeks ago and been counting days ever since.
So, here's my vision about the beautiful brave song. I'm sure more Sonata Arctica art will come up when I get the new album. The another great song Flag In The Ground will probably be my next source of inspiration. :D
I had a lot of fun while experimenting with the forest. It was nice to put wintry scene and autumn colors together, and I pretty much like the result. I hope you enjoy it too!

I honestly believe this is the most emotionally captivating piece of digital artwork I've come across in a while. You used excellent colour schemes and blending techniques - the fade from summer to winter is very smooth, and the single loner caught on the edge, sort of "outside looking in" tugs away at those heartstrings :D I'm also a big Sonata Arctica fan, and you've done "The Last Amazing Grays" justice with this.
I really don't think there's much (if anything) you could improve with this piece - in fact, if you tampered with it at all, I think it would lost its powerful emotional value, and the emotion behind it what makes it so beautiful. You've done an excellent job, be proud of this piece!

Really, I dont think this needs any critique at all! This is a wonderful image that is expressive, aesthetically appealing, well crafted and intresting. Your design and composition for this piece is lovely! The photomanipulation was done wonderfully and seamlessly. And the richness of textures color and light just jump out of the picture. You did a fabulous job! The only suggestion I can even make is a very slight modification to color in the upper right hand corner: In painting I find that it is helpful in making a whole composition feel unified to carry similar colors throughout the whole piece so that there is not an area that feels out of plae tothe rest. While the dichotomy between the warm and cold is obviously one of the main points to this piece - I dont think that would be compromised by bringing just a touch of the yellows or gold into the sky... maybe just as light behind the trees... but not enough to really change the tone of that side (barely noticble even) just to add a little unifying color so it doesnt split so completely intoseperate images. I think you already have plenty of the whites on the left panel, and see that you do have the yellow leaves toward the bottom right which all works wonderfully :) Where you transitioned between the two looks absolutely terrific! And the same can be said about the central wolf. Great job!

Intensely beautiful, a perfect blend! I do so love the wolves since I first learned more about the in "doggie psychology" classes lol, when I trained for K9. ;)
