"Down at the Olde Mill Inn We'll laugh and dance and sing We'll drink all day and Bill will pay Down at the Olde Mill Inn
Down at the Olde Mill Inn The ships are sailing in, We'll drink a toast with Judy our host Down at the Olde Mill Inn
The moon is full, the bar is too, when we come to town We'll have a beer, cause Jerry's here So spread the cheer around"
Blackmore's Night - Olde Mill Inn
I couldn't resist posting another work now that I finally got inspired. I spent most of the last night finishing this piece, I just couldn't let it go once I had started...
This piece reminds me a bit of my earlier artwork called "Home" - this is another place I'd love to live in. I must say that I'm quite happy with the way this piece came out. The deep colors of approaching night and the warm alluring lights of the Inn... It makes me want to take a look inside those windows and get my share of the cosy and cheerful atmosphere.
I really enjoy working with landscapes and I'm glad I was able to carry out my vision. I think the colors and lightning turned out better than in "Home" which I found bit too dark afterwards. The blending took some time since I had to use many stock images once again. Hope I didn't miss anything. Let me know what you think!
Please take a look at the full sized image! The details can be found here.
I like this piece sooooo much! All the stock you chose to put together are amazing and the job you did with blending is fantastic!Colors are really beautiful!
The only 2 things that I'd done differently are:I'd chose some other brushes for smoke and I'd blend differently that small part of rocks or whatever that is that's on the left part of the picture.
I really like how you blended the sky with trees, mountains etc.The stars are great touch to the sky I also like the lights.I think you did amazing job with them! The blend of 2 different houses is also great-they mach perfectly
All in all, this is a wonderful wonderful work! It's very peaceful and calming-look like place where I'd like to live if I weren't addicted to sea
I am seriously in love with this piece,so this wont be much of a critique Place looks so magical and peaceful. I cant even imagine how long did it take to put everything together so perfectly. There isnt a thing I would change here. Gorgeous setting and atmosphere, great choice of stock and colors for sure. The little fantasy village is beautifully done, and that light coming from the inside the houses is my favorite part,it even reflects nicely on the walls and plants around. Foreground is beautiful, you cant go wrong with the waterfalls
For sure one of the best photomanipulations I have seen in a while.
I love this piece... the inn looks so warm and inviting set amidst the waterfalls and the forest. I think I'd happily go curl up by one of those windows (preferably near one of those fireplaces) and curl up with a good book.
An impressive image, I've seen for several minutes and not see such a magnificent finish details that you included. He even seems to have moving water, clouds, smoke, but what I like most is the lighting of the house. In a word amazing. The feeling of peace occurs.
I'm so in love with the atmosphere that this conveys. I'm not too literate in photomanipulations, but this was executed so beautifully that it looks like an actual photo. I especially love how the glow from the windows seems to draw the eye in, and how it creates a contrast between the cosy interior and the rough, freezing wilderness outside.
OH and off topic-- I am a huge Blackmore's Night fan myself! You and I have very similar tastes in music and it's lovely to meet another Nightwish aficionado hehehe <333
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm more than glad that you like this piece - I spent quite a while trying to make it as seamless as possible. Great to meet another Blackmore's Night (and Nightwish) fan too! Their music is a huge inspiration for me... ^^
First class artwork, the type of which I can only dream of achieving. The close-up views show how really good this image is. Exceptional work and a definate for me. You have a wonderful gallery as well and I enjoyed viewing so many fabulous images. Tony.
